She has directed and produced films that have screened at the top international film festivals such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Toronto International Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Cinéma du Réel in Paris, and Sundance Film Festival, among others.
Idil is passionate about human rights, humanitarian issues, and global education. She is a contributor to the popular blog Everyday Africa and sits on the advisory board of Bronx Documentary Center's film program. Idil has also been featured in the Guardian, Astronaut Magazine, Glamour, Elle, Fusion.net, Splinter TV, Real America With Jorge Ramos, Nataal, Destination Iman and Instagram's blog and on television on Arise America and Hawaii News Now.
